FILMSTAR BRONZE & GLOW AND THE DOLCE VITA BY CHARLOTTE TILBURY

Whilst in London just over a couple of weeks ago I thought it was only right that I visited the Charlotte Tilbury counter to pick up a couple of her must sought after beauty products from the current collection. It hasn't been launched yet in Glasgow (to my knowledge) so I was really eager to
actually try before buying rather than just ordering online...plus it's way more fun having a swatch instore (although I'm not sure if the boy would agree with me on that one). If you watched my London vlog you might have seen me express my excitement for these beauties, and oh my they sure are beauties.

Starting off with the Filmstar Bronze & Glow Face Sculpt and Highlight, on first impressions of seeing it in the pan I was a bit wary of the sculpting powder because I thought it looked shimmery. However, on application it creates the perfect shadow with just the right balance of pearl and pigment. It does have a slight shimmer to it, but once applied I actually don't notice it at all and it gives a beautiful soft focus look to the skin.  I find that it would be pretty hard to go wrong with the sculpting powder because the texture is velvety soft and blends like a dream. I have been really enjoying using this the past couple of weeks as a contour, although I do think it would also look lovely all over the face as a bronzer to warm up the skin. The highlighter is just gorgeous - a beautiful champagne/gold colour that again melts into the skin to give such a pretty candlelit sheen. Onto the price...this is probably the most expensive bronzing/highlighting duo I've ever bought at £49. However, if you're looking to splash out a bit on a really lovely sculpting duo I definitely think you should check this out because it really is a lovely product.

Moving onto The Dolce Vita eyeshadow palette...Charlotte based her collection around 10 makeup looks to help us ladies and gents more easily identify which products might be best suited to us. When you shop online, you can actually choose to shop based on these 'looks'. The Dolce Vita palette is said to be the woman with..."killer curves, luxe perfume, and a sultry smokey eye. You embrace your femininity to conquer the world". I really like how Charlotte has categorised the eyeshadow palettes around these looks, giving us 8 in total to choose from. All of the palettes' shadows are split into the following: prime, enhance, smoke and pop.

The thing I love most about the Dolce Vita palette is how versatile it is. The prime colour is the perfect pearly champagne colour that can be used as an all over lid colour or to emphasize the brow bone/highlight the inner tear duct. The 'enhance' shade is a warm toned brown colour which works well as a transition shade in the socket to create a smoky eye, or all over the lid and blended out for an everyday classic look. The smoke colour is a gorgeous dark chocolate brown shade which I used to smoke out the outer corner of my eyes and under the lash line in the photos above. And lastly, the pop shade is a gorgeous glittery gold which I pressed onto the centre of my lids (all of the palettes come with one glitter shade to 'pop'). This palette costs £38 which is definitely the most expensive eyeshadow quad I've ever purchased but I can't really fault the eyeshadows and the packaging is absolutely beautiful.

What do you think of this makeup look? Have you tried anything from the Charlotte Tilbury makeup line yet?
